I´m seriously thinking about it.

What are your thoughts?

For the face, not the body.

I´m thinking a little botox, not a full scale face lift, that I could never do, and the whole concept scares me in reality.

Has anybody taken the plunge? What have been the results?

Does anybody actually want to admit to it?

good morning Jan ...and any other early morning deliquents online wave ...look its not pleasant getting old i am sure no one enjoys it ..and i guess one has to make more effort to keep fit ...go to the gym etc ...times change you dont jump out of bed with tousled hair and look great as in years gone by..... however botox ...i looked it up on line out of curosity ..and what i found was that in the end its a poison that is deposited under ones skin.....so no way hozzaj.....look for me alot of these cosmetic surgeries are just a way for a lot of people to make alot of money in the end ......one has to accept that one grows old gracefully and with dignity ..if one can do that then what the hell ........... dancing dancing will survive bouquet

Now we know what the effects are, people!

Good morning, Lago wave

Jan is probably giving herself time to think about it.

I've never done it, but who knows? I have an 82-year-old neighbour who does, and the effects are quite visible, even at her age. She has always been an elegant woman who takes very good care of herself and who takes pride in the way she looks. She's a widow and living alone. And no, it's not for being attractive to men or to find a partner. It is for herself, to feel better about herself. She said, I have a choice and my choice is to be beautiful even in my dying bed. And botox helps -- she looks only 60-65!

It's a lovely, sunny Saturday!
Good morning, allheart wings

Personally i'm all against this artificial stuff injected in my body. Yes i agree if you wish to do it it'll be for yourself and not for someone else's pleasure. You look gorgeous. Please try not to spoil your beauty because i've come across some bad results from couple of friends and the skin looks aweful.
Remember you live in a hot country and the heat is the worst enemy to the skin.....anyway at the end of the day it's your final decision and your body...hug

Personally i wouldnt even tho we all feel like we need improving cosmetic surgury can seem a solution but once you start u have to keep having it other wise the skin looks worse than you did in the first plc, plus it can become an adiction you get one thing done then u see something else and something else and so it goes on and on., plus all the things that can go wrong, Just being you and being happy with your true self is what shines thru.wine

What for???

I am not thinking about it, I would not consider it.

I like the way I look and I want to age as nature intended.

I think you're mad, woman.

Somethings should not require assistance. Even at your age!

Jan,
I understand the "thinking about things" part, seems to be a lot of that going on in my own head also now that I've reached a certain age. The face is a bit of a problem... true. Some people have really sagging parts above the eyes so the eyes disappear... I don't think I'd do anything if it wasn't anything really bad like that. A guy your age won't mind how you are; again with a younger one you might feel self-conscious.

The results I've seen when the wrong suregeons have butchered some beautiful women's eyes was devastating. Botox as has been pointed out will get you hooked (needs renewal at least every 6 months) plus it's a poison and expensive too. We have enough poison coming in as it its... All I'd do is fix my skin and get those annoying hairs removed by laser.

What does help is not smoking or drinking excessively. Drinking lots of water helps. Maybe more eco food (sprouts for instance are a real booster). On top of that there are some reasonably priced skin products, natural and full of antioxidants. I also try not to frown so much and it seems to be working just a teeny bit. I can really dislike myself when i'm tired but well rested - much better. Beauty truly shines from the inside. Natural is beautiful! teddybear

rolling on the floor laughing I knew you´d say something like that!

I´m happy with the way I look too, and I take care of my skin by staying out of the sun etc etc.

My mum looks 10 years younger than her 70 years, so I have inherited good genes too. I am lucky.

I was thinking about it because Spanish ladies of a certain age are quite open about their little adjustments, be it botox or other kinds of temporary fillers. You see the most luscious lips, and smooth faces on the over 50´s walking around my city! It looks a bit odd though I have to say.

I have to have an expressive face in the classroom, especially when I´m teaching phonetics...you know, position of tongue, etc! laugh

Thanks for all your thoughts on this folks.

Like Sommer, I think you are crazy too. You are beautiful and need no enhancements. Stunning, in fact.

It used to be that lines on the face and body signified that you had done something with your life, that you had lived, and the lines etched the beauty or pain of that life and achievements.

Today people want to look like something out of Madam Toussauds with waxy smooth expressionless faces that show nothing except an expensive habit and self absorbtion. A sign of changing times maybe, where people have more money than sense...

Or, I could be considered old-fashioned.sad flower
