Yesterday afternoon I witnessed the aftermath of a car wreck near my home. A guy had seemimgly on purpose driven his vehicle through a rock retaining wall off a cliff to his death. The rescue workers were very solemn as the helicopter hauled the body away. They searched a very difficult hillside for other victims, fortunately he was alone. It made me think, what could possibly be so bad that this guy did the final act ? It also made me think how precious life really is , and with the blink of an eye you could be gone. It reminded me that all my actions with others should be more considerate and thoughtful.

jvaski: I don't know about that ........ I've been there and after a few drinks it seemed ok again ......
I would almost be willing to bet that while having those feelings it would be the worst time to have a drink, one might find more courage about doing the deed.

My first thought was - he was another building contractor out of work like me .............

I was joking around with that one. But actually I was considering it when I was so sick I didn't want to go on. I kept making deals with myself to wait just another week to see if things improved ........ Eventually they did, but scared me a little that I had to go there with those thoughts.........

You know I could not sleep when I was in the hospital, and they tried to give me that. I refused.

Glad to hear. Things must have improved then, good deal.

Thanks, that was a long time ago . I didn't write this thread to bum anyone out, it just reminded me yesterday that I need to be more thoughtful of others.

Yes, I was talking to a guy at work one day, a contractor helping us on a project. He seemed fine and I had been working with him all day. That evening he took a bullet to the head, he pulled the trigger. You just never know. They say live each day as if it's your last, well treat everyone else as if it's there last also..JMO
jeepers: I have heard that anti-depressants can have that effect. Doesn't make sense does it ?
The Dr. gave me anti depressants while my husband was dieing. I only took them for a week and then stopped taking them...they gave me thoughts of suicide.
I had those thoughts for a short time when my husband of 36 years passed away. As I was rounding the curve to drive off the embankment I saw my grand-kids in front of me. I stopped my vehicle, pulled over, had a good cry, thanked my Creator for saving me. I know too well how life can be gone in an instant.
