I'm outta here....going swimming...byeeeeee!!!!

My question is....what's your favourite sport/active activity/health exercise, whatever...??

How many times a week do you want to do it, and how many times a week do you manage to do it?

Do you do it alone, or do you need other people to play...ie tennis, football, etc...?

How long have you been doing it?

Why do you do it?...general health, losing weight, socializing, competition, or other reasons...

Is it expensive to do?...do you need to belong to a club to do it?

What sport would you like to do, if you don't practice it currently...?

banana applause wave

Exercises I have done/do. I do at least one of them every evening.

Karate
Kung Fu
Kick Boxing
Boxing
Running
Yoga
Sit ups/Muscle stimulation using my own body weight/Resistance Bands
Bicyling (Just recently started this)
Roller Blading

Done for general health, stress relief. Some are more expensive than others. Some at a gym, some at my home. Have a lot of equipment here.

If I did not work out every day, I would probably seriously hurt someone...I get rid of all my bad stress this way. After I kick the crap out of my punching bag at home, I am good. grin

ok short list or long one?

reason I used to like the buzz of competition but now I do it for fun and relaxation.

Monday (in winter) curling swimming in summer
Tuesday swimming
Wednesday golf and swimming
Thursday work late mumbling usually nothing
Friday swimming and pool or snooker (usually snooker)
Saturday swimming running (soon) and pool or snooker
Sunday swimming running (soon) and pool or snooker once in a blue moon a Golf competition. Waggoners in July is the next one
between and bit of home trainer if I feel like it. guess that's about it.

Hmm, let's see if I can answer some of these. Difficult stuff..

I don't do any swimming. Because I can't swim. And my skin is allergic to chlorinated water. Not a good start, but it gets bettergrin

Favourite sport - tennis. I used to watch Roland Garros, Wimbledon, US Open, Australian Open, Sportpaleis events .. that sport can get my adrenalin pumping just watching it..

Favourite exercise - dancing, at home. Dancing to the beat and rhythms of Tina Turner, Santana, and Hotel Costes. Reason - I enjoy it and been doing it for as long as I can remember.

Sport I liked to do was karate. I tried it, but it was too strenuous.

My number one sport is rock climbing.
Unfortunately due to a recent injury I have
had to abstain for all of this year except for
a couple of short climbs last week.
Also due to the recent bad summers here in the uk
I have had to make do with indoor climbing walls
more than I would have liked.
It is a sport I can partake of on my own although
I would prefer to climb with a partner.
I guess I've beeen climbing off and on now for around
forty years.
As a sport it does very much demand a level of all
round fitness, training isnt really necessary, just
doing it sees to that. Also there is the social aspect,
climbers do tend to be very social creatures, I think
this maybe due to the non-competetive nature of the
sport, although 'sport climbing' did appear somewhere
around the mid eighties, it still does remain mainly
outside the main body of the sport.
By comparison to many other sports its fairly cheap
to kit yourself out depending on how far you want to
take it. Some join clubs but for me I prefer not to.
I've always wanted to try parascending, I'm sure it
must be a wonderful feeling to hang out there with the
birds.grin

Went swimming today, late....waves were so big, I got tossed around like a soggy piece of paper in
a loo that's just been flushed....but I made it to the other side of the bay, where a couple were lying smooching...they looked at me rising out of the water like I was Davy Jones coming to take them on a tour of the deep...quite exciting really....I wish I could've stayed longer...but swimming ain't much fun when the sun's not shining, innit?...

wave
