Nice things can come from the lies. Especially those that are blatant liars. Better to learn a lie from a profile, than to have them lie to your heart.However, truth is sometimes better learned in time because it allows you to be more accepting of the truths that may at one time seemed discouraging, but since you know the person on a different level, they seem inconsequential.
As far as what is behind a lie. Absolutely nothing except hollow & emptiness.

I don't know why people lie on their profiles, but I have experienced it first hand. I guess it has gotten them first dates, but not any second dates. You name it and I have seen it: old pictures, wrong age, wrong weight, wrong height, wrong interest and activites, and on and on...
