I have a question...personally, if I found someone, and got wrapped up in a new relationship....my considered guess is, you guys really wouldn't see much of me here....

So how come there are other well-publicised hook-ups, and these people still spend a good chunk of their free time on CS?...

No judgements, no criticism to anybody personally, but if I had a relationship in real life, my desire, motivation and reason to be here, would evaporate rather quickly....but hey, that's just me. What about you??....When YOU find that ONE and ONLY, how much of you are we likely to see here??

Oh, please… I’m sure you’d’ve found someone if you wanted to find someone.

But you don’t.

You make this place, you bask in own glory, you’ll never leave

Amen

My opinion? It is like any addiction it doesn't stop when you start a relationship.

Me, too. I would not stay in a dating site should I already have a boyfriend, whether I found him here or in real life. That's just me, too. I would not find it appropriate for me to be in a dating site when I'm in a relationship with a guy. But I could keep on communicating with the lady friends I made here on my private e-mail if they also so desire, but not with the guys.

Deja vous, I just answered this over in the International Shreds...

I don't think your desire, motivation would evaporate, because of the people you have become used to. Like with me, I have close contacts here and it is a way of being in contact. For me, also, my integration with PPV was here, with alot of love and support from people here. Some don't like it, but on the whole, we are pretty much independent from each other... He sleeps, while I am awake, I sleep when he is awake... Does not mean that we don't want to be with each other. Just life and eight months down the line, we are like an old married couple with the internet... grin

Reference to me "basking in my own glory" is not a compliment Tul...it is a reference to arrogance and self-importance, which I abhor...most of what I contribute here is not generally self-referencing...my threads usually are issues which invite people to contribute their own opinions...I have no need, outside of humour, to make references to myself. I use myself as an object of humour, mainly because it is unacceptable to make fun of other people...cool

Hi Lago, legitamate (legitimate?!!, legitimite?!!)sorry, can't spell right now - question.

When I am doing school planning or marking, I usually have the computer on beside me and keep on either checking out the forums or playing backgammon because I have the concentration span of cauliflower and need to distract myself continuously, so I end up taking twice the time to finish my work, but am usually in good spirits the whole time. Seeing as I do school planning practically every night, I guess that is why I am here a lot. When I am with the gentleman I am dating, I am with him... But I am not with him all the time - my motiviation to be here is that it is just straight up fun dunno I get a big kick out of so many of you. I like ya!!! So there...tongue

And on that note, I have been terribly naughty considering I still have my report cards to do and only have 3 1/2 days of school left, so will 'kill my profile' (yet again) and hopefully be able to keep myself off for the next few days...terribly addictive, this place. Bye...be good everyone...or at least, be careful...wave

You know Imma? I am often here, but when I am at work, I never log on... I simply cannot. Because my work would suffer, so I do not, so although it looks like I am here alot, I am not when it comes to me working... Now I am not at work so I am here alot, however, I am intrigued that people think it means we do not have a life. I can be logged in and post in a thread, have the window closed and be doing a whole load of other things...

Report cards? Oh the days, I spent the whole month pf May doing those, (my school finishes in May) and I know what you are going through. I try to do mine each day, although I only had 122 students so maybe you have more?

Well… when I first learned that there are couples in relationship here, I was surprised and wondered what they do here. To fall in love is one thing. You can manage to fall in love for few seconds. To maintain a relationship is quite another matter. A relationship has its costs: to adjust to each other is a hard job that would take all the time and energy and patience… and sense of humour…

Then I stopped to wonder, it’s none of my business after all: each and one are happy in their own way.

Though how the few remained singles can connect if there are only couples left here?

Hello Lovely Lady,

G'day. Oh heavens, I do not log on at work. It's when I come home and am doing work - Geez...I guess that would still constitute work...Good Grief!.

My number of students is considerably lower. All of my students have special needs. Most are on the autistic spectrum. A few have a diagnosis of Aspergers Syndrome, others PDD Nos and some developmentally delayed due to a myriad of reasons. So they all have Independent Education Plans that are quite involved and their report cards are mini-thesis reports. 18-20 pages. I always vow to make them shorter but it is very difficult to do. Anyway, you take care Lovely....

I'm sure your report cards are far more intricate than mine are... I only have to report their record in English! Like you, I simply could not log on at work, I would never get anything done!

While my teaching is very much during the day, the nights are the time for me, the kids need that time that they would normally have with parents and they have resident staff that are alien to them. My new role will be concentrating on the resident and recreational side of the boarding students and that is one that I will relish, even though I have taken on some relief teaching... My new role as head of resident care and as director brings a whole different side to my being than that as a teacher...

I did think that your report cards were more than mine, I only have to write some comments...

perhaps it is a cultural difference or perhaps not a complete grasp of the language to know what you said was not a compliment.
It was most definitely presumptuous.
