what i find jacked up is that when people find out that you draw for a living they think your some childish mofo.i am an artist,so what if its not fine art or picasso crap.people ask me what i draw and i tell them hot rods, motorcycles, comic characters, fantasy, etc.granted,i'm no boris, frazetta, but i do get paid for what i do.i've had artwork in a number of hot rod mags, and have been in collaboration with some higher ups for maybe a graphic novel with my characters.i work hard doin what i do.whats the diff between the dudes that draw spiderman and batman, and all those neat lookin cartoonish rods that everyone enjoys so much?its fun.at least i'm not killin myself to live.what kind of people do you think do all those badass designs on the expensive rods you see on the streets?people like me.i've had a number of contacts on this site, when they find out what i do they dont want to contact anymore cause they think that its just childish that someone draws for a living.i've also done artwork for some metal bands.hey,it works for me.

How blessed you are to be able to make your living doing something that you enjoy....and to have such a talent. You say that you draw...but, in fact, you are an artist. You are fortunate...and fortunate that the women who lose interest because of what you do are losing it early and quickly. It keeps the door open for someone else who can appreciate your gift.

Well Statik66...i think its cool what you do......I did graphics my self at college, and i know that drawing is a gift, you have it or you dont.....you have to have it in your fingers, and the fantasy to be able to put it to paper and many people under estimate these skills...

So be proud of what you have, you have my thumbs up......thumbs up thumbs up

I think you are better off without those people because most likely they were thinking about your supposed bank balance, and maybe they thought you didn't make much money, or even make regular money doing what you do.

I know differently, being an artist myself and having 3 family members who are artists too.

Just go on telling people that you draw, but see it as a positive thing if they don't chat to you any more, because you will know then that you have just got rid of an ignorant woman who is only interested in what you earn, and not who you are...comfort

i've thoght about that myself as the bank balance goes.apparently people think that if you draw for a living there is nothing to it so why would anyone pay you for a piece of artwork?example.i told a girl i made at least 100 k a year, and i told another girl i made 25,000 a year.which one do you think wanted to hookup?

My daughter's boyfriend had that problem too. It is how I know. He works for advertising companies. In fact he did the last 7up add for cinema and tv, the animation parts, and he gets really well paid for what he does, but he used to have great trouble getting girlfriends when he told them he drew for a living.

Some people are really shallow.hug
