No.. these are people who apparently have been trying to IM me. If I chose the 'Online now' window, to the left I see 'my lists' and under that is a button called contacts, which is separated into people I've contacted and people who have contacted me. I do have IM turned on... Filters?

Go into your mailbox and look at the tabs. Should be 4 across the top - on mine the last one is the filter settings.
George625: Found the Filters. Nothing set there, except the time zone was set for the other side of the world :) ... not sure if that was the problem...
When I use Google Chrome.. I do not see IM'S either... Google autamatically blocks these as pop ups... If I want to enable IM'S.. I change browsers.. Try Mozilla Foxfire, if you aren't sure how to enable pop ups with Google..
Additional settings: Pop-upsPrint Google Chrome automatically blocks pop-ups from showing up automatically. You can choose whether you want to see pop-up notifications:
Click the wrench menu . Select Options. Click the Under the Hood tab. If you want to see pop-ups, select the 'Notify me when a pop-up is blocked' checkbox. Click Close. If you allow pop-up notifications, an alert will come up at the bottom right-hand corner of the browser window whenever there are pop-ups for the page you're on. It'll show you the number of pop-ups that have been blocked. Click the alert to expand any of the pop-ups. To dismiss the alert , click the x.
P.S. We're working on ways to let you specifiy individual websites where pop-ups should not be blocked. Stay tuned!
George625: Hi... New here, I just found the button that lists IM requests. While I've had a few IM chats I seem to have missed a lot... What's up with that?
Fairly new 'puter running Vista, usual browser is Chrome.
