Besides the fact that he is a despicable person to begin with..he is a good ball player....I'm in no way condoning what he did and I agree with the OP I'm just saying he was good at his job and I don't think they will actually let him play or after they realize how much negative feedback they will/are getting they may not keep him-which is what I'm hoping

I wish the SOB couldv'e rotten in prison

You can't really keep punishing people, he did his time, there is no reason to continue to punish him.

I don't think he's a particularly good player (let's not kid ourselves, he's terribly inaccurate), but he should be able to get a job and live his life just like anyone else.

He made a choice to fight dogs it is against the LAW. He thought he was above the law and is now a felon. He does not deserve this special treatment....If you ever witness two animals thrown in to a Pit to kill each other, It take a SICK mind to enjoy that. His crime was not a mistake in judgement. HE ENJOYED seeing the animals kill each other and he killed the looser with his hands or drown them and electrocution. He did this premedtion...A person that can do this is to a animal is deranged. I don't believe the NFL cares about anything but MONEY. What good role models these people are for childern. You are right he is not that good a player and if he does play, I hope he is BOOED off the field..Yes he does need a job he could work in a slaughter house he got a nack for killing animals...

I agree that he shouldn't get any special treatment, we won't disagree there. I fundamentally disagree that you should punish people for the rest of their lives though. He's spent time in jail, he's served his sentance, let him get back on with his life. If he should be punished more, they should have given him longer jailtime, not add some moral sentance afterwards.

Let's face it, we're all gifted differently, and I'm not sure Mike Vick is particularly good at anything else. Should it even matter? Let the guy go out, get a job doing what he has the tools for and move on.

The easisest way to get back into crime, is if it's the only option you're allowed.

Isn't it the pattern of all pro and even college sports to allow these people back in the game??? If it were any of us, we would have gotten the maximum sentence. It will be interesting to see if any team actually wants Vick at this stage.thumbs down

The problem is, he is getting special treatment. Yes, he should go back to work but not in PROFESSIONAL football. Just because he is (gifted) and not good at anything else. Rob a bank break the law then get your old job back. Not in the real world. Putting him in the lime light might be more punishment, when he hears the Boos. The NFL team that picks him for will be making a big mistake. Sorry but that liberal, we forgive you doesn't play.
Many have lost a good career over less. I have no sympathy for people that hurt childern or animals.

It's not about special treatment, it's about wanting to continue to punish him. Essentially you're saying that yes he served his sentance, but let's continue to punish him through work. He's a football player, of course he's going to try and get back to doing what he does best.

The NFL has a history of taking people back in, Mike Vick isn't the first, and won't be the last, or even remotely special in that sense.

The man is broke, owes millions, forcing him to take some terrible job out of some self righteous principle won't solve anything for anyone. Possibly with the exception of your own wish to see people suffer.

the bottom line is the nfl is a very big priviledge to play in. lots of young kids look up tothe players who play and make them their heros. there are too many youn talented "good" people who want to play in the nfl to have to resort to convicted "felons" for employees. i dont now about you but my job wont hire "convicted felons" and neither shoud the nfl.

Yea, people who have served their time shouldn't have the same privileges that the rest of us "real" people have access to, right? Much better to regard them as subhuman and keep them in the gutter.

If some of the animals, he killed did not suffer from the wounds, cuts, bites, from the fights he killed them by choking them or drowning them or hooking them up to be electic to shock them to death. Is this a person that should be giving (not a right)a place in society as a figure or role model because the NFL wants to make more money off him. I am sure there was a Vet ready to help the suffering dog or were they just drug to the side to let die in their own blood and vomit. What I am saying is he is HEART less to suffering. To bad he is broke but he did what he wanted to do for his ego and money. There are many young players who need a chance why the NFL would even want to take him back is for only one thing MONEY...he owes them and others. Special Treatment for these people is wrong.

It's funny to keep hearing special treatment is wrong when special treatment is exactly what you're suggesting by giving him less rights than other human beings.

What is the point of serving time in jail if it isn't a paid debt to society why the sentence is complete? You might as well execute anyone who commits a crime. Drug Dealers, Murderers, Rapists, Child Molesters and People who Speed.

Hang the all..... I have the rope.
