A few moments ago, around noon here, the phone rang...
Me: Hello?
Caller: Are you sleeping?
Me: No.
Caller: I'm glad.
(short pause)
Caller: What times dinner?
Me: Who is this? Who are you calling?
(medium pause)
Me: I think you have the wrong number.
Caller: I think so too. I'm sorry sir.
Me: That's ok. Good bye.
(end of call)
Just a typical wrong number, except the women sounded just like one of my grandmothers that is no longer with us. Before the call ended I breifly regretted asking who was calling.
Ocee35: Yea, the heart was definately making a play for power
as I tried to reason out who was on the phone. I had that surreal feeling you get before you realize what you're really seeing, when what you think you're seeing is impossible.
A few weeks ago one of the shadows the flowers cast on my patio
ran about three feet across the patio, turned around and ran off.
The trip lasted maybe 3 or 4 seconds. There was just enough light to cast shadows and what I had really seen was a mole. We don't see moles running around on patios very often so it took my mind a few seconds to pull up the "mole on patio" file.

I'd call it a mind trick.
I think all of us have these mind tricks. It often takes us a second or two or three to realize what is really happenning. Couple the emotions of certain events to this and we have your situation, which I don't think is too uncommon.
