Found the mouse on the road, it does not even have its eyes open yet. Phoned the pet store but they will not take it, said to raise it ourselves.

It is only about an inch and one half long. Tried to feed it some milk with a syringe and put it in a plastic margarine container with wood bedding.

Hope we can keep it alive, any suggestions.

Have already called three different numbers, no one cares about a field mouse.

Seems strange trying to save this mouse when we were just putting mouse traps at the other place to catch the mice there.laugh

I suggest: don't keep it...I don't think it would make a nice pet...Me, I would really feel <sick> if you were to present me with your pet. Sorry Kitty comfort

mice cannot digest cows milk, maybe try kitten milk and water it down.

You could always put a hot water bottle covered up and put mouse onto inot something on top of bottle.
is it still pink?

Having tried to rescue newborn bunnies and kittens, you can try KMR. It is a milk replacer food supplements for kittens & small animals liquid. You can find it at WalMart and possibly any pet store. Has more nutrients than regular milk.

Didn't have much luck with the bunnies but we have had good success with kittens.

One thing almost forgot, you will have to "stimulate" the newborn to urinate.

There are sites with info such as thisgrin

Found a newborn baby bird once laying under my clothesline in my back yard.I called and called several wildlife places but they told me to just let nature take it's course ,as in just let it lay on the ground and die.

I was so upset I was crying.

The baby bird died anyway.
