YouMeUs: Here, it's the woman's choice. Well, sometimes women will also work to help make ends meet, but it's still their choice.
I know men like to think that they can contribute in the house when both the man and the woman are working, but I've never known a guy do 50% of the housework.
I believe that many women get too stressed out these days trying to carve out their career and be a wife and manage a home and be a mother.
So, if you're rich you can employ a nanny or whatever and pay for childcare and employ a gardener and a cleaner etc.
Both men and women have a need to be fulfilled.
I'd never deny a woman the right to enrich her life by working, but I also believe that when young children are concerned there is no substitute for a child's real mother and father - once a baby has grown into a toddler the parents can never get back what they've missed if the kid is 'farmed out'.
Amenda: oh, very democratic. Yes, if only the man himself can raise the family.
Financially, that use to be the golden rule. Man works and earns the money while wife tends to their home. Some are capable of doing that but others are not as financially stable enough to do it alone.

well said indeed
To be together with kids, listening to her talking about her school thing is really the happyest thing in our life.

I read somewhere that the average two income family in the USA is now worse off than the average single income family in the USA in the 1950's.
All very sad - people working their butts off for a lower standard of living.
Women used to be better off when they managed their homes and sent their men out to earn money. Managing a home is a huge job and for many women it could be very rewarding. I am NOT against women working; I just feel that a couple need to really decide what they both want and maybe not be so greedy for things like a bigger more expensive house if they lose out on living as a result.

Yes, two person can get more money to surport the family.

oh, ic. But they say that the economic in Usa is getting better now. Some southern company of China have begun to get more orders from abroad.
Yes, in fact housework: cooking, cleaning, washing... a lot ,not a easy thing to do in fact.
I don't like to borrow money, neither from personal nor bank. But in China more and more young people like to buy expensive house or car. very very tired.

It may be in some states and areas I'm sure. And I think the key to what you stated may very well be in your last sentence there. Some areas are extremely expensive while others are affordable. When my ex and I bought our home, the property value was $70,000. By the time of our divorce five years later, its value was $130,000. Nearly doubled. It's getting to become if you're wanting convenience, having practically everything localized and easy to reach, you're gonna pay a lot extra for it.
For alot of women they don't have that choice, and need to work to help provide for the family. But if they don't need to work for financial reasons, they should still have the the right to continue their career.
For me, staying at home cooking and cleaning would have been worse than a prison sentence, I had worked hard to build a career and wanted to carry on with it.
A relationship is a partnership, so if both are working housework etc has to be shared.

oh, dear, I've been in a prison sentence for sooooo longgggggg time.
Amenda: I'd rather to live a simple life than borrow money from bank.
Of course bank will not borrow money to me because of my jobless.
Without a huge house, it's easy to clean rooms. Without a car, it's good to walk a lot. ....
We Chinese call this as AQ spirit. its meaning is to comfort ourselves by this kind of blance words. a little silly ,huh?
Not silly at all. Sometimes simplicity is favored over complexity and is always obtainable, if that's what you're seeking. Problem with some, however, feel they must keep up with the Jones'--compete with their neighbors and such. I prefer simplicity myself and just wave at the Jones'

Right.......... i know I'd go totally nuts as a 'househusband' although I have a friend who wasn't well enough to work and he stayed at home and did most of the housework (and cooked ALL the meals).
From a selfish viewpoint I'd like any woman of mine to have outside interests - whether work or hobbies........ as it would make her a more interesting human being to talk to and be with; totally horrible to have a wife who was stuck at home and hated it and resented me if I had a fufilling career to go to.

I think a relationship with partnership becomes a business rather than a living relationship
