Usually, these stories have a gruesome ending....this one is somewhat happy....the victim is still alive, but how do you rebuild a life when you have lost 18 years??.....unbelievable!!!...

But thank God she has a life to rebuild with her two children. There must be a lot of heartbroken parents of other missing children out there who's feelings have been reawoken by this story.

I agree, they have missed out on so much, but feel sure with the love of her family they will get thro this.
My heart goes out to all the parents of abducted children

I'm happy she is free now, but she will never be really free in her mind and soul, it will take lot's of work with professionals with her to make her feel safe again and gain back her life very slowly. How many kids are missing and never come back home again, very very sad. Thank God for her to find home again! Prayer for all the children in this world!!!

morgan5: know where your coming from Laura, but at least she got home alive
Yes. You are right Morgan. At least they survived.
And if a "show case" is about to be made out of this story, this young woman, her 2 girls, and her stepfather, will get all the help needed to adjust to a new life (I won't say to a "normal life")... But if in a few weeks after all the excitement, this family is left on their own...
You might remember there was this boy a few years back... kidnapped as a small kid and returned back to his family in his teens, if I am not mistaken he started 11th grade upon his return. Happy re-union, but he didn't adjust to the normal life.

I agree and its tragic, i don't know if they ever will
Healing takes a moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day, week by week, month by month and year by year. May she and her children heal.
Personally, I'd like to introduce the abductor to my rare 16 gauge side by side, double barrel shotgun at point blank range. Not that it's ever going to happen, but prison would be too easy for him.

I read some of the comments from the perpetrator. He tried to convince the police that the whole affair was something great and wonderful that would be an inspiration to others.
