I made the mistake of letting my dog have a taste of can food when he was a puppy. Now it is very difficult to get him to eat anything else. I guess I could use the old technique of giving him dry, he will eat it when he gets hungry, but he has me trained well. doh

Dry. We seem to adopted a cat (well he adopted us) he even dips his paw in the water and licks it of first to make sure it is fresh, if it's not meow's like hell wave

Two cats, two dogs and they get dry pet food. Much easier to clean up, especially since they like to be social eaters and bring their food to where you are and sit and eat next to you.

The dog here has dry food, but refuses to eat it even though it is the only food she has ever had. The problem is she started eating the food off the floor from the kids and now will not eat the dry food anymore. We put her outside but she jumps at the door until we let her in then just runs to the table.

She now know how to control you....laugh She will eat.....when she gets hungry...Trying putting the food down for 20 min then take it away untill the next day do that again or pick up the food before she is finished eating then feed her again later. GDMhandshake

Actually we rarely give him dog food. His diet is
mainly made up of chicken or other white meat.

And of course...sausages. laugh

If she just eats the scraps off the floor is that good enough for her. She eats mac and cheese, fruit loops, sandwiches, etc. anything that is dropped. The youngest will give her the food off her plate if we do not put her outside. Yesterday I asked who wants some licorice and the dog was the first one on my lap.laugh

That must make for some interesting clean up...not goo food for a dog. And you wonder why she is jumping on the door....Many human foods can cause a dog problems they are meat eaters....roll eyes

Cats eat dry...tablespoon of wet in the morning as a treat. Had to give them pumpkin today, one of them has the runnies, so they all got it.

Dogs ate chicken and rice kibbles, loved it.

(most cats like donuts, no coffee tho)

ladyfingers: Dang! I must be doing something wrong. My dogs only live until they are at least 15 and my last cat died at 18.

That's a good age but you might get more years with them on a natural diet. You might not but I like to give mine all the edge I can. handshake
