navbabe: true but more often than not that is the case imo

Maybe but i think that depends on the people. Like i said before, if there is chemistry there and the two people have enough in common, age shouldn't be a deciding factor on whether to make a go of things or not.

DUBLINGUY1973: Well I don't necessarily think that because there is a age difference, two people can't be on the same wavelength.....

my first real long term relation ship was with a girl who was 9 years my senior. When we started dating I was 18 and she was 27.... We had 3 great years where age never came into it except for when others brought it up. We split quite amicably and I only have good memories.

yes it does depend on the ppl there are a lot of deciding factors really...age is just one...would you for instance date someone who you had very little or nothing in common with??

im quoting kev147 here i dunno how to double quote

id agree navbabe,
id go further and bring intelligence and earning power into the equation too,
for it to last i believe two people have to be very similar

No, I wouldn't date someone who i ha very little or nothing in common with regardless whether they were younger, older or the same age. I do think it is possible though to have a lot in common with a person even if there is an age gap.

I also think that sometimes age only really becomes a problem if one or both of you let it become an issue. If the two people involved don't have a problem with the age difference and you make each other happy then what others think shouldn't really matter that much........JMO

yes true but i wouldnt actively seek a relationship with a guy in his 20s i would be more inclined to flirt or chat up a guy closer to my own age...i dont mind a couple years in either direction

I think if 2 people are at the same stage in their life ( not just in age ) and are looking for the same things then go for it. I personally would draw the line at someone young enough to be my son or old enough to be my father.
