He was just trying to follow in other Presidents footsteps. He learned his behavior by looking up to them and patterning his behavior after theirs.

Seems to me as if he was a total Horn Dog and BS artist. I think he got so good at BSing everyone else he managed to convince himself he was above all the rules; that he owed no loyalty or fidelity to his very sick wife and that he could screw around, in essence play house with her replacement.
I read he was planning a rooftop wedding when Elizabeth died, that he even got so close to running for presidential nomination sickens and angers me.

Yes he did want to be president but then again they all do and I'd wager a bet that most of them have done something of this nature at some point in their lives. We were born with 2 heads and only enough blood to operate one at a time.

So whats the problem, he is hardly the first politician to have an affair and certainly won't be the last, no different in any other country really, other than Italy, where the Prime minister actually boasts about his female conquests and how much they cost him
