on the news today it was stated that the divorce rate is 45% !!!!!
Many more people are now making pre-nuptial financial agreements but I think this was for the older, second timers bad some of the younger also. I have mixed feelings, it is sad but also wise at the same time.

Perhaps one should look at why the divorce rate is so high? Some people just marry for the wrong reasons. Some people just like being married without thinking is this the right person for me. Some people realise too late that they really want their freedom. Some people expect too much from a marriage and don't know that it really is the beginning of lots of work to make it work. Some marry just to give their kids a name, etc... There are so many reasons and combinations of reasons. Divorce is expensive and emotionally costly yet so many hop into it without fully realising all that they are getting into.
