It seems to me, and I´m sure others have noticed, that some topics brought up in a thread, mysteriously spawn multiple threads on the same theme.

I suppose in some ways it is natural, but in other ways I find myself thinking, why can´t people just make do with one thread on any given topic and not simply copy the idea, albeit in other words?

And why is it that "different", and in my opinion, more interesting threads, die a quick death? Are we only able to discuss a minute number of topics I can count on one hand?

Maybe I´ve just been around CS too long. laugh

I find that some subjects are unique, but most are designed by the OP to produce some results that I don't have a clue why! I have never been one to enter into the religious and political ones. Well I do write a post or two, but I don't stay around for a debate. That is not my style or what I enjoy doing. I just simply state an opinion and move on.

Maybe we just need to generate the Threads that we would find good. I know I don't produce many original Threads. I guess I should do some.

Yes John, maybe you should. You are well traveled, and have experienced a lot in your life, so I´m sure what you have to say would interest many people.

As for you Boban, yes, you are just one big troublemaker! laugh

What is interesting to some is not to others.

Personally, i don't find the religious or political threads in the least bit appealing, but many do.

I agree with your reference to the political and religious threads, they are the ones that seem to go forth and multiply. laugh However, whether one finds them interesting or not is not really the point. I do find these topics interesting, but I often don´t participate because they always lose credibility after a page or two.

What I´m trying to say is that many people just copy an ongoing thread, but word the the thread title slightly differently. It truly annoys me I´m sorry to admit.

We often see similar threads on the same page don´t we?

I've started a number of what I think are interesting threads and I get a few responses and then they get pushed off page 1 by some newbie posting 15 assinine polls. Why is it that new members feel compelled to swamp the forum?

Jan1305: I noticed that too, not only in your case incidentally.

People. well actually men generally on this site as far as I have noticed, seem to stop communicating on the threads or being friendly when a woman is "taken". It mystifies me too Petal, and it goes against the constant ramblings about how important and wonderful it is to have friends here. I don´t really know because I only have one or two people I would call friends in the true sense of the word on CS, but I do think that women are more capable of maintaining friendship regardless of relationship status.

Your other priorities are fabulous, and you should post threads about it..well you know, not too intimate, but enough to spark a bit of variety in the discussions usually going on here.

Yes, I totally agree with all you have said in this post, Jan. Spot on. Well, it is blatantly obvious to me why some male members here have suddenly decided what a terrible, horrible woman I am, where a few months ago I was Flavor of the Year - Its not too difficult to work out the reasons behind that!!

laugh

Well, I have already experienced some great things in my new life, and have occasionally thought about starting threads about them, but I just felt that recently there was a little animosity around so I decided not to chance being accused of being an American, or of monolopising threads.dunno

I really enjoy good, adult discussion, and have enjoyed many happy hours when I was lonely in my life debating with some on here! I sincerely hope that just because I am now attached certain members will have the sense to see Im still the same Petalbabe I was a few months ago.

So, anyway, I will attempt to start some new threads!!thumbs up

Good, I look forward to reading them.

As for being viewed as anti British just because you have married an American, that is just silly. I´m sure that your roots and thoughts remain faithfully in Ireland, just as mine do in England, despite having chosen to live in Spain. I have no hesitation in extolling the virtues of life in Spain, I adore it, but I could never deny my country of birth, even though I feel more Spanish now in my heart.

wave I maybe wrong but do you not think that now you are married you are bound to be viewed differently? out of respect for your knew status more than people being offish with you.

I know since i made it known i am with someone, some men do respond differently to me than when i was single.

I think you should post as you did before, i enjoyed your threads and found them thought provoking

Hi Morgan - AKA CS Peacekeeper!!laugh wave

Thanks for your kind comments about my posting. Well, yes, of course some view me differently now - I understand that. Most are great, and very positive; a very, very few have not been.

I am already trying to post again and will continue to do so.

oh yeas, this is the topic what i have to answer. i wont comment it detailly cause im a gentleman, although i was just said a joke and so on.

my first point is: if you are not a trouble maker, and God knows im not, dont make your thread too personal, and dont be provocative at all, i maybe was a little. dont think, if you dont want to fight (and i personally do my fights on the street, not in the internet) that this is a single site, so it could handle those topics considering singles life all around the world.

the second one: keep your threads quite simple, so the discussion does not go too complicated, so the fundamentalmoralist swing of the site does not get lost to its socks. maybe my next one is talking about the colors of seats of my next mb slk.

otherwise, this is a great site, i love you all, and really wish you luck alltogetther.
