I know that people use this term too often these days and view it with a wistful embarrassed disbelief but like so many things, one doesn't look closely enough until it affects you personally.

I have always 'believed' in Soul Mates somewhere in my dark recesses and even glibly used it in my wedding speech but recently believe I've actually found her.
For those of a sensitive, inquisitive and occasionally damming disposition - we have been separated for the last three years now - so my Soul Mate wasn't my wife.........but that's another story.
My understanding of Soul Mates is, that you have Known them before.

It's hard to even attempt to talk about this without being too metaphysical but the idea that there is Someone 'out there' who is so perfect for you, a mirror image, an opposite, a yang to your ying, the missing piece to your puzzle, etc - is so appealing that maybe just of itself we are willing and happy to embrace it.

Imagine how hard it must be to find a Soul Mate.
You would have to, not only be living in the same country - but the same location, be of a similar age and both of you would need to remember what went before.

I met 'L' in the Spring '09. There was instant attraction of course but oddly she wasn't the 'type' of woman I would normally go for. I was 'incomplete' when she wasn't with me. I was bereft the moment I left her. Thought about her night and day and spent every moment devising another meeting.
I already knew her.
Is this just Love?
Reading more into a situation?
Delusion?

As it turned out, there was no happy beginning again - there was a twelve year age difference and she couldn't remember.

Another belief is that it is entirely unlikely that you could find your Soul Mate as they are your 'double' or Spirit Guide in Heaven (or wherever) as so can't possibly be here on Earth, with you, at the same time, with complete memory recall!

So here's the question - sorry it's taken so long by the way, but the bottle has only just finished!

Do you believe in Soul Mates?
Have you found yours?

Shared a lot... had a lot in common... talked comfortable and easily without the mush...I knew lots about his job... and could talk for ages about same intersts.

I thought... gosh... this is really easy ...shared same values... values were important... honesty and advocay for same things...

Then I got dumped..

question : when you think you've met your soul mate and everything is going fine but then all of a sudden someone else comes into your life and you just know that, that person is the one yet it's too late to make anything of it cause your with someone else - how do you reconcile that?

I believe in soul mates and believe I have found mine... in fact I know I have... I'm young but I was one of the lucky ones. Yet, the entire time he was right there the whole time, we walked circles around each other for years... We've now been together nearly a year... can't picture my life w/out him in it. I've learned though, its all about give and take. You have to even each other out. I knew the first time I saw him in person... yes we met online! Only to find out we knew all the same people... The Lord works in crazy ways. Him and I will be married in January. Its hard to believe he wasn't always in my life!

We apparently have several soulmates who are not necessarily a romantic partner. They can be our friends, parents or even children. They are people with whom we have karma to deal with from previous lives and it can be either a positive or a negative experience.

The common term soul mate as we are led to believe exists relates to our twin flame/twin soul and it is very rare that these are reincarnated at the same time. People who believe they have found their twin flame experience a very intense pure love.

Do I believe it, not sure but I have had strange experiences which forced me to research this so I guess I have an open mind and believe in something even though I am not sure what it is.

Unusual that TWO such intense relationships should come along at the same time - possible I suppose.
It's a good question and one I can't answer because I like to see both sides and I'm still having trouble seeing one side!
You said ...'when you THINK you've met ....'
If I BELIEVED she was my mate, no one else would even blip on the radar.
However - stuff happens I guess.....God's Ineffable Plan - so if someone ELSE did come on the scene who I ALSO thought was my mate, I'd either buy a flat in another town, or just let them fight it out amongst themselves.......I reckon...
