Eclipse1: So she doesnt feel like an outsider, you could maybe do her profile ect without her knowing the password ect,if you have the time you could sit beside her while she interacts with mates that she knows and mates across the globe she would be able to have access to..
Its when you make a huge thing out of something that her peers feel is harmless, that rebellion can form, anyway JMO

in general she's not allowed log on anywhere without me been present...it was a rule when we got the internet....its juxt that it dont follow through in daddy's house...and i aint knocking him in that post wave wave

I just signed my 11y/o boy onto Facebookuh oh But I told him he is to only have kids as friends... His sisters are on it, one is 14 and the other 18... I really don't think it's a big deal.
Facebook has quite a good privacy and I think kids are a lot smarter now than we were when we were their age...
I trust my kids to make the right decisions and they need to learn about the crazy world we live in so that they can be better equipped when they hit high school and beyond.

I was reading our local newspaper with article about...
Get mums off facebook' the kids are polling andjoining together to get parents off their space... they are wanting their privacy..naturally the parents want to know what little jonny and susie are doing... so there is a bit of a war going on down under. kids v parents.
Thankfully my kids never had computers when they were growing up so I personally would not know what the answer is...
but good luck to all who are trying to decidewave

I think it is OK if and only if you are watching and keeping tabs. There are spyware programs for parents.

10 years old is too young in my book; I think as a teen it's ok but you have to have the ID name and password as well and you can go into it at any time
