I think Islam is more a way of life, it is not just about their religious beliefs. But also every group has it's sales team for whatever crusade they are on, may be you have just run into some .....

For me it's values ladenness how we view the world and how we treat people.
I found many Islam who contact me posted they are spititualism. Why not confidence to pronouce what they are. Just curious!!
I see nothing wrong with them but something I was not appreicate was some of them tried to convience me to change that's over the boundary to make friend.

You may have to decide when meeting new people how important religion is to you and them. Are you willing to convert to someone else religion? Or is staying with yours more important? Many people are flexible and will honor each others religion and many people share theirs.
It matters to me because I am not religious, I am spiritual. I also respect all religions, although I may not agree on the interpretation of their ancient writings!
I have found that the belief system in a relationship is very important but still does not guarantee compatibility!!
