Sunny143christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand112 Threads 20 Polls 1,093 PostsHow many of u ppl believe in this saying PAST IS PAST....I really cant understand how can some body forget past(unless u suffer dementia...lol)...is it just a saying or it really makes some sense...Im unable to forget many past incidents in my life...which I do not even want to forget...I want to prove myself in life keeping my past failures n tough tyms in my mind.....when my past itself is like a motivation n lesson...y shud I forget my past...my frnds say this to me always...plz throw some light to my ignorance..

well in a sence you can still remember your past but not let it interfere in your life now..yes we learn from our past and even smile at the good things ..but the saying is more sont let it stop you from having a future or spoiling a relationship with someone new

The reason why its called to past is because it is behind us and the future is what is in front of us but remembering to live in the present. We all look back at our past just for old times sake, me personally i look back to see how far i have move on in my future and take stock of what i have achieved.

past is past can also mean you are a different person today then you were yesterday as you will be a different person tomorrow as each day you learn something new.

I don't think anyone can forget the past, at least I know that I can't and I really don't want to. But I think what it is trying to say is what everyone else in here has told you. Also for you to learn from your past mistakes and move on. Sometimes it is hard, but we all can do it.

The past is dead...the future hasn't happened yet...if we dwell in either place it removes us from now...if we are not in the now then we are not living. When you live now then the only state you can be in is happiness...if you are not happy it is because you are not here but living either in the past or the future.
Happiness is not a place you go to or arrive at...it's an awareness...simply an awareness that you are happy...now. And if you can free yourself from the past or the future you will be in the present and only there will you be aware of your present state of mind.
