MINE - Aircraft, Aviation & Engineering History, Model engineering, Model making, Old Cars, Land Speed Record Cars & Motor Cycles, Ekranoplans, UFO's. I have practical experience, information and library material covering those listed.

Hopefully there will be some people willing to share interests and knowledge intelligently to mutual benefit and that we may learn from each other or even be converted to have a go.

Thank you for allowing me to suggest this thread

If you are really interested in Kites which take varying dfegrees of skill to make from low to high competition and demonstration standards, here is a book worth reading and buying for reference.

The Magnificent Book of Kites. Explorations in Design, Construction, Enjoyment & Flight
by Eden Maxwell - (ISBN: 3829022077 / 3-8290-2207-7)

If you look on Abe Books and punch the title in with UK prices first, you can get a copy very cheap if you join and as a member fpor 7 years I can vouch that the booksellers registered with them are very secure and reliable.

I will leave Moto to *educate* you, re your stated interst in Egg whisk spottting, as he is the qualified jockey, owner and expert.

As I cannot get a woman YET and can't afford an Egg whisk, I am scaling up drawings for a model of the Kamov 22 Vintokryl, using the pics and three view drawing at this link, if anyone else happens to be interested in the Russians 1959 answer to the Fairey Rotodyne and other really interesting big choppers - Size matters laugh

See

Cheers

Yeah Moto

I have seen the V-22 before and like the tiltrotor idea.

Have to say it would make another good scale model subject if I can get hold of the 3 view GA drawings of it.

Yeah - I got them - Frightening stuff that R/C Phantom
Thanks have replied. I wouldlove to do that big Mick Reeves Lightning Mk1a but have never made any R/C planes.
They are very expensive and the proper jet engines are too and the whole thing would be very tricky for anyone not experienced with R/C so I will stick with the stuff I know about and do my way.

Cheers

Helga - If you take the title, author and ISBN numbers to your local public library they might either have it there or are able to get it in for you to borrow.

I know many model makers who borrow library books on various subjects and copy stuff out of them for their own use if they are a bit pushed for loot and I have done it myself.
