I've noticed an increase in the posting of "links" as opposed to actually saying what's on the writer's mind. Number 1: Many of us do not have the access, so we don't know what you're trying to contribute. Number 2: This is a forum. Use conversation. (Using links is kin to having someone else do your work for you). PLEASE, if you are going to have a lively chat/discussion, then do so. This isn't a reference guide, for crying out loud. Get real with your participation.

You do not understand what I am saying. And no one "made me God", and I have just as much right to say what's on my mind as you or anyone else does. Your insulting tone is inappropriate.

Sounds like giving orders to me........."do this", "get real"...... ( and this is not telling anyone what to do?)

None of that sounds like polite suggestions in my book!

No one allows anyone to talk to them in that tone of voice in this day and age. Can't understand why you think you should get away with it!!!scold

A right to say something is fine. The right to say it in an ignorant way is not. You were hardly polite. I have the right to say that too.

My tone wasn't insulting, it was chiding. Don't you know the difference?rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Hi Rohaan,

While I do use links, (primarily for music), I do use others as I am fully aware that there are people/organisations who have greater expertise/knowledge than myself on a subject.

I see it as no different to giving advice to a friend offline..

As to whether one can view a link, well unless someone informs me specifically, I won't know that they can't & then post another link or provide further details..

While a link may undoubtedly prove to be an interesting source of support for a point of view, contain an illustrative example,or be thought- provoking enough to trigger discussion, I think Rohaan means he would like to see more of our personal opinions and points of view detailed here. Elaborating takes time, it`s true, but when you are kind enough to invest your time in putting your ideas (I was going to say "on paper")together for others to consider, you are sharing something that is uniquely yours with the rest of us, and we can see more of the valuable individual you are. It is in this sense that it is easier for some of us to keep a discussion going, because we feel we`re talking to real people.

I do enjoy reading different opinions, and especially appreciate it when somebody has devoted time to write a lengthy/illustrative message.

My two cents`worth. Have a great evening, you all.

All right. Your point is well taken, however, It is over analyzing. I'm fully aware that people will do what they want to do, but the idea of my post was to let folks (gee, am I allowed to say "folks" or does that sound too downhome and informally colloquial)? Heaven forbid I hurt feelings with the wrong syllable. I sincerely hope you can see past these vernacular idiosyncrasies we have and understand the post itself. I don't know if it is because of the area here or what, but there is no access to links. This is not unique; others have the same lack or loss of the computers' full abilities, as well.

At last someone who understands. If I wanted to take the alternative and go to links (if I could) then talking to others on a forum would be kind of a waste of time, when I could just do the research myself. And why wouldn't the other posters WANT to actually "write" their own thoughts in real words? Isn't that what the forum is for? If I wanted gibberish that can be found without the forum. Thanks a million, Clara.rose rose rose rose rose rose rose rose rose rose

Yes, I totally agree....people using the technical advantage of referencing links instead of filling up pages of a thread with copy/paste quotations should be beaten with frozen noodles, drenched in cold fish soup, and made to sit at work in wet clothing....
