Ok, main question is how many people out here enjoy riding motorcycles. This is not just around town kind of rides but I would like to know where your favorite trip was.
Several years ago I took a ride to Newport Oregon then south to California along the coast highway, back to Newport than back to Boise. (2000 miles in 5 days.) I came back with a sore butt but a really enjoyable ride.
I took another trip this year but that is another story.
Love riding in the country and through the back roads.
Had a great trip from Toronto to Montreal with a group of friends, and oh what a time we had....:)
And a few years back a friend from CS and her buddy rode up from Kentucky to Niagara Falls,Canada to see me and some of are friends, drove over 16 hours they did, most of it through the rain, gotta love a devoted rider...LOL

I've had my bike license for more than 30 years. Used to sell Harleys. Had a belt-driven Sturgis. A short ride to me is 8 hours. One day I will have another bike and will ride the length of Old Route 66.

Tell me about some of your trips.
One of my favorite trips was to and around San Francisco when I was stationed in Monterey and the guy I was seeing then took me there on his bike. We drove up and down the hills of San Fran in the rain!
Absolutely love motorcycling, although I have a weird contraption called a sidecar attached to mine. I live near the national park called the Peak District and my little Royal Enfield now knows most of the roads round there, as do my two children who are now avid motorcyclists
I use to ride with my dad all the time when i was a kid. It was great fun.
Haven't been on one too much since...but i sure do miss it. I loved it!!! There is a certain sense of freedom to it.
I did a drive from here to New Mexico in a truck....beautifull drive...would love to do that on a bike. You can go 80MPH legally on I 10. I loved it!!!!
well whenever i am feeling a bit blue i take my bike out and go for a ride in the countryside.sit there enjoy the solitude with my bike and then ride back home.
Yes, I suffer from acute depression and its so nice to feel the depression disappear for a while, hell I get home and life actually seems worth living for a while.
I like to take vacations that allow me to see a lot. I can do the museum thing but I like riding through (or even sailing to) new places. I think you miss a lot of what a country is like by doing the highway and really see the country by doing the little backroads.
Paraphrasing Dan_Barry64, it is like a personal moment each time you ride through a region. You can always stop and enjoy the babbling stream or watch the clouds move over the mountains. I love every moment I am on mine. And like Iuchi_Zien said, it really relieves the depression because you are in complete control. It is a lot of fun too.
Wouldn’t be fabulous to do the old 66 route from Chicago to La (hint hint Sophie).
I love to ride, but my sense of balance isnt what it used to be, so I'm thinking of building a trike. My brother has one and we were talking about doing some traveling on them.
