Hoi BlueDevil ... nice to hear someone, for a change, not claiming ownership of broken things ("the spinal discs" ..... "the left leg")..... So surely you will heal nicely!

Christmas? .... Nada .. nothing ... I HOPE! I just spent all my hard-earned cash on the hairdresser today ... enough to feed an African Village for a week! ...... So am trying to figure how to make myself invisible over Christmas .... gifts... ya know?...hahaha ... I hate this Granny Obligation Thingy! .. Actually I think all Grannies should be exempt from giving Christmas gifts ..... they all got life from me anyway...without me they wouldnt all be here! grin

We Grannys ARE a gift anyway-we don't need to give anything anymore-we are the safest place for the grandchildren, what more can we offer?I think our presence and help all over the year should be gift enough!teddybear

I will be doing my best to remove all things voodoo and bring in a little Christianity into a Christmas that has lost all its meaning

That's great Smoky, so not being my Granny, you have no obligation, but you will be sending me a Christmas present. What happened to your pink Ferrari? I would appreciate it as a pick up car for my dates!! You have'nt been seen in it in the village for ages.

I still love Xmas even though my kids are all grown up.

There will be a few pre Christmas celebrations with colleagues and students first before I fly to the UK.

I´m not a granny (not sure I ever will be!) but I will be spending Xmas with my daughter, son and his fiancee in their new home. My daughter and I will catch the train from Southampton to St Albans on the 23rd. They are trying to persuade me to go out on the town with them on Christmas Eve, but I think I´ll give that a miss and wait up for them with a bottle of wine, a mince pie or two, watching slushy Christmas tv.

Boxing Day onwards will be spent with mum and her partner, my brothers, sister and their kids.

I´ll be back in Spain on 31st to bring in the New Year with Javi my partner and friends.

All in all a few weeks of festivities and fun with loved ones.
That´s why I love Christmas, and New Year, so much.

Same here, Jan. I love the enforced break, and spending time with family and friends. Everything is so rushed at most other times.

Hopefully it won't be 40C on Christmas Day though!uh oh

Probably sitting on the beach with a bottle of champagne and wondering, contemplating and enjoying my own company, but also secretly wishing that there was someone there to share the bottle of bubbly with me.wine
