I´m only starting mine today.

Much as I love Christmas, I don´t enjoy shopping for gifts. sigh I find it particularly difficult buying for men.

What do you buy the adult son who has everything? laugh:

All suggestions welcome before I hit the shops.

Hate xmas shopping with a passion - hordes of tired and irritable people pushing and shoving you around in the shopping malls.

My 17 year old son will be getting his first real good cologne?

This year I take my 2 gorgeous french daughters (23 - 28) out for Xmas shopping to daddies hometown Amsterdam - it will be the first they will ever meet and I am curious to find out if their respective mothers taught them about shopping lol

I know what I buy for myself at my SE Asian meanders in Zurich but I would'nt advise it for your young sun since it lacks a bit from a return on investment point of view professor

thumbs up wine I am so happy that my household here has become peaceful over the Christmas issue ....... the children received large rather expensive gifts for their birthdays, and now Christmas is just token gifts, and stocking fillers. The main thing is we have a couple grown-up orphans who come to us for Christmas dinner and this makes a beautiful festive family occasion - cosy with wood fire, our friends, good food.... and no stress.

Good for you Smoky, sharing your happy day with people who don´t have a family.

When my kids were young we used to have someone over for Xmas dinner from the local old people´s home.

Well, I finished my shopping, all done in two hours followed by a glass of wine with a friend, who unfortunately had her handbag stolen in Madrid yesterday. sigh

A warning for all of use to take care of our bags, purses, and wallets at this time in particular when the streets are heaving with Xmas shoppers.

I shop on the 24th. It takes about an hour. The whole family buy token presents. Being together and sharing food, stories, and songs, is what is important for us, not the value of "things". wine Our joy is in each other's company.teddybear

All the long distance stuff is done. The stuff that doesn't have to be posted is planned but not actually bought...

For hard-to-buy-for people... experiences are better than things. A day at the races, a flying lesson, a Sushi-making session, an afternoon at a spa, a ride in a sports car, dinner somewhere posh... that sort of thing.
