I wish I could do it again, I called my self an earth angel one year. I heard of a family in need. NO hope! Wife disabled, son disabled, 4 kids in all, dad unemployed, eletric and gas shut off.

I went out to as many people and churches I could get to. And on christmas eve, delivered a tree with decorations, a months worth of food, tons of presents and reciepts for power and gas restored. My kids and I rang the door bell, handed them a card, with everything on the porch, we said Marry Christmas and left. They never knew who we were, I loved it!!!!!

Today as I waited in the lineup at the bank there was a disabled man who was waiting patiently in line. When it was his turn he went up to the teller and asked if they this did this - could he have $2 so that he could take the bus home. The teller said that the bank couldn't do that but she could. She handed him the $2 coin and asked him if there was anything else she could do for him - he said no, but thank you and that he would pay her back. She told him that it was ok.

It was a sweet moment to remind me that we need to take care of those less fortunate in our society either by birth or simply fate and circumstances. A small gesture can make all the difference.

A wonderful story full of human kindness............ I wonder if a lawyer would do the same thing? dunno

Earlier this year I found out it was the birthday of the receptionist of my brokers. I've never met her, but she is always both polite and cheerful. She has a boyfriend.

I got through to the parner's daughter, who is his personal assistant and she agreed to go out and buy a bottle of champagne on my behalf to give to the receptionist with a note:

"Happy birthday! Please enjoy drinking this with your boyfriend. Thanks for all your help. Robert."

She was delighted.............. and so was I!(I was delighted that she was delighted). grin

I've never met her but speak to her almost every weekday on the telephone................. the people who answer the telephone and deal with clients are the most important employees a firm can have, in my opinion, and are worth their weight in gold (if they are good, that is!).
