How come some types are more acceptable than others....Folks I'm passing the time. Take no notice. it's just a thought than got lodged between my ears yesterday while waiting in the post office (for over hourfrustrated ) And all I wanted to do was pick up a package and pay for it.......

In my local 7/11 people areprepared to stand in line for 20 mins at a time.with no complaints........

So what is it that makes some types of queues ok and others people gripe about

The length of time I am prepared to spend in a queue is directly proportional to how much I want whatever the queue is for ...

After Gorbachev time, I hate queue as a concept: there is no such a queue that I would gladly stand in… but in a socialist state you can’t avoid them. So I stand in all sorts queues at least once a day trying not to engage my brain and soul into the process, and holding as false as a seven-öre-coin pleasant facial expression…
grin

Money is the only rescue from queues, but that’s another matter of course.

I try to avoid them at all costs if possible.

I walk out of a bank/post office, if I see a really long queue, that is, more than about 5 people in banks, and 10 in PO's.

I went on a 12km charity walk a few years ago. I needed to have a toilet stop half way, but the queue was so long, I waited 10 mins, and went back walking, preferring to wait 'til I reached my destination. Then I had the lot, including lunch with chilled wine. Well deserved!laugh

I carry a book in my purse with me at all times. I can't stand to be idle! Half the time if I am standing in line I am talking to whomever is around me, our town is very small, you either know someone or you make friends really fast, we are a friendly lot!hug
