I am hoping someone can help me.
I have been snowed in for a couple of days and need to work from home. I have been trying to remotely access the system at work but keep getting a notification that my browser doesn't seem to support ActiveX or Java Applets....
Huhh?!! A problem I haven't had before.
I have had a look on the Internet for free ActiveX downloads to install but not sure which are bona fide and which are not.
Can anyone suggest anything safe..... and free?!
Thank you so much, I would be truly grateful, peeps

Hi rose,
If it's a work computer you're trying to access remotely, best to contact the IT dept as they should be able to remotely access your computer and sort it out. Or they are most likely to. Good luck with it. So annoying when you're trying to get work done.

I contacted the IT Dept at work. The problem is not with the remote access via their facility but is a problem with MY computer. Understandably, they are unable to advise me on this.
I have tried restoring and re-setting the advance settings but it has done nothing.

dont u know what is problem ?if u have problem of Direct X u can download online in few minutes to prevent the problem
if ur system doesn't let to get it download,u need to go to
Tool/Internet option/security and custom level once you are there u need to enable most of the option, and apply,or u can click on reset setting i am sure that is gonna work, regards, Ulfat
Thank you, Sahil. I checked out the link you posted and it takes me to cnet. This is one I had looked at which then took me to Regtool. Do you reckon either/both are safe?
