I stopped feeding them last year when I saw rats eating the peanuts and seeds that fell off the bird feeder on the ground, Had to buy a few traps and put out some rat poison
their out of bird feed in my town no where to be got its like the salt

started feedin before xmas..... have seven feeders now and loads off hungry birds for breakfast every morning..... its cool lookin at them before work, thou me cat goin crazy lookin as well....

Yeah. I've been feeding the birds. They are starving, I put out food 4 times today and it dissapeared within minutes each time. My cat is determined to catch a few of them though, trying to keep her inside as much as I can.

You can give them cooked potatoes or oatmeal, I looked it up last nite.Or any sort of seeds (pupkin/sunflower) or unsalted nuts.

The birds were really funny quite moving to watch...their little wings flapping around and trying to bite where their feathers had been burned was cool upsetting and i will never do that again got sacked for being too cruel

that's really cool sorry i think i should have said cruel.....
i fed them today as well - and even hacked out the birdie bath and gave them some water.... :)

And with bread it's best to dip it in water or milk because it upsets their stomachs otherwise. Some birds will only feed on the ground so I always leave food there as well as in feeders and on the birdtable.

Their also really dehidrated too as the water keeps freezing so i was told to leave out some cut up apples for them
