Did everyone hear or see where Dell recalled 4 million laptop batteries that were faulty? They have high potential of exploding and burning PC up and causing harm. I read about it on Yahoo News yesterday!
Yups, and got to watch video clips of the exploding batteries that were burning tables. Was a good laugh while I was eating breakfast, and I'm glad that they got right on it and are trying to fix. You can thank Sony, it's their design that caused the battery issue.
I didn't hear about that, but that's not the first time that's happened with Dell. When I bought my laptop in 2000, they repleced mine because of the same thing. It had heated the laptop so much over time that the motherboard was replaced twice and the hard drive was replaced 5 times until they realized it was the battery
I just wanted to make sure everyone hears about it so they can check their battery # to make sure it's not one of the recalls this time. Dell has set up a website with the battery #'s listed that are involved. It's dellbatteryprogram dot com.
That was a nice gesture on your part. You better be careful or somebody will get the impression that you a nice lady and will want to take you home with them.
Thanks Roy; I was beginning to wonder if anyone was taking my postings about this seriously. I was just trying to prevent people from losing their laptops or getting burnt unnecessarily! LOL
Roy, there is absolutely no chance of anyone from HERE wanting to take a woman, that gives even the slightest impression of being a "nice lady", home with them. So I'm definitely safe!!!LMAO
Sony batteries are in their laptops but Apple also uses batteries that are made by Sony.
All 3 companies have information on their websites as to how to yours replaced if needed.
I do give them credit...the process is easy and painless. fill out a form on the website of your laptop company....they will send you a replacement. They will also send packaging to return defective batteries at no cost so that they can be recycled and/or disposed of properly.
Not in defense of companies that make faulty stuff...but life can be imperfect. It at least appears that they are attempting to do the right thing......
