summer_2009: will you know the date a person joined CS? I just want to know if the persons i'd met here are newbies or if they're already here long..
A guy contacted me here and after a few lines of chatting I doubt if he really is from the place he said in his profile..is there a way to know if they are telling the truth?

With Information Technology as it is today, do some research on where he says he lives and ask him some pertinent questions about it, especially if you are on IM or another instant messenger service.
He will not have time to research the replies if he is lying.
Alternatively.... go with your gut instinct that he may be lying and kick him to the curb.

alternatively, if he sends you and email, you can look up his IP address and see where it came from, many free resources on the net, google is a good friend

i get scammers all the time they don't seem to be as persistent as everyone elses scammers .
