My Oldest Son (20)

Well today my long long search for him has ended. I was able to find out that he had decided to join the United States Army.He was also deployed to Iraq.I'm so very happy in regards to finding out just why I'd lost all contact with him but at the very same time I'm relieved that I located him.I'm totally scared to death too.

Oh heck SC..thats like a total contradiction of emotions...My son didnt speak to me for 6 months when I moved to Spain because at 23 he still thought I'd "abandoned" him..madness yes..but hell hun I hope you can get ur relationship back and that he stays safe!

Glad to see you found him. I did GW1 it's a lot calmer now over there. have u got access to the US army web site thats one way to find him. I only have access at the moment to British sites in that area. Will help if I can.

How old is he? When he has the time I am sure he will contact you. Maybe he could not tell you what his intentions were. It would be hard for any young adult child to tell their mother they were going into the service and not upset you, or give you time to talk him out of it.

patmac: Glad to see you found him. I did GW1 it's a lot calmer now over there. have u got access to the US army web site thats one way to find him. I only have access at the moment to British sites in that area. Will help if I can.
Yes I do and that's how I was able to get acess to some phone numbers and was able to talk with a Post Locator and found out what unit he's in.

He's 20yrs old.As for his intentions I was told yesterday when I contacted Fort Bliss in El Paso Tx I was told that because of 911 that certain things are keep private and that I fully understand.

As long as he is safe thats all that matters...Plus he joined the ARMY, so thats definitely a career that he chose and be happy :)

he choose a good profession ,dont worry about anything,I hope that you will see him again and soon wth you becoz US Forces are coming back to USA ...
