Is there a scientific or politic study behind these polls? Just ask the question you want to ask, dammit! Do you have a question? Ask it! OK...this is my rant for the night.

It seems that there are some compulsive poll creators ... so they would have voted in favour of keeping it ,
But im like you I feel there are way too many & some of the poll questions are just way beyond ridiculous.

Polls here are ludicrous, in my opinion. I'd much rather have actual discussion and interaction.

But then you have to go through every single entry on every page to get every opinion and you will have to write it all down to then go back and analyze it all. The poll function does all the stats and breakdowns for you so why not use it, that's what it is for !

I disagree, it depends what the poll is about. I remember one in particular that releaved that men were quite prepared to support their partners financially, but that was not reciprocated by the women one bit. Very revealing that was and always remember it.

I don't mind a well constructed poll but most of the polls I see on here seem like they are put together by an edie oat. The opening statements are very often biased to favor a certain outcome which is an absolute no no for a poll. The poll choices often poorly worded with ambigious answers, or the movie polls like "What is the best movie ever made" and they go ahead and list 7 crappy movies.
A recent one asked who was the best British actor and Sir Laurence Olivier wasn't even on the list.

You're right too many of the polls are just ridiculous.
I remember when they were first introduced, the forums were
flooded with them for the first few weeks. Seems to have gone
back to that just recently.
But at least on a poll you do have the option to post a pic.
