KHD100: Political Correctness ... who's version??? Another thing I'd vent about ... there is political correctness ... and then there is take away someone's freedom because it's one person's version of correctness that has just gotten out of control. Bend over this way because we can't offend this type of person. They can offend you but if you do it, it's politically incorrect.

Too many use it to cry and whine about not getting what they don't deserve.

Political Correctness ... Give me a break.

Whoa! Slow down there! I was simply stating that political correctness ruined most of what we enjoyed as kids. When I say political correctness, I'm talking about what the Gov hands out as "wisdom" and a good amount of people accept it as gold.

Believe me, I say what I want when I feel it needs to be said. I care not for friends, favoritism, or popularity at the expense of watering down what I believe to be true....like gay marriage. I agree with you on what you have said.

Have a bad day? comfort

I think we are getting a little carried away here and pulled in different directions.
I am all for the good old days but the past 30 years have brought forth some new revelations and advances that add to quality of life not diminish it. Yes it has often come too late and with a heavy price attached but better late than never. I could list many improvements that have taken place. Things like a greater awareness of our environment and the implementation of procedures and equipment of companies to create a greener planet. People are also becoming more health conscience and choosing a healthier life style in spite of the fast food giants.
As far as technology is concerned do I like the fact children sit in front of the TV and play games for hours on time? No I do not but it is not the kids fault but the parents. Having said that there is new research out that suggest video games in moderation can be good for the development of a child. You may disagree but that is what the research says not what I say. Again the parent has to be a parent. That means making decisions for your kids that they may not always like. My son use to want to spend hours playing video games. I had no problem with telling him to get his behind outside and do something. There was lots for him to do outside of the house and he would enjoy doing it.
I do not like everything I see but there are some positives. We can continue to blame technology or government or whatever. The fact is times and methods of doing things change. We can accept it or fight it because it was not the way it use to be done in the good old days.
I have some great memories about the good old days. But I also feel that not everything about the good old days was better.
