Obama did say he was going to change America, but he forgot to tell the people who voted for him that his change is from good to bad. Soon the ones who voted for him are going to come out and try to defend him instead of looking at facts. The easiest one is, when he passes the health care bill, where do they think the money is going to come from. Everything has a cost and the cost on that one is going to destroy the economy.
To the ones who voted for Obama, thanks for nothing.
More than a year after President George W. Bush left office, more Americans continue to blame his administration over any other entity for the nation's economic woes, according to a new poll.
In a New York Times/CBS News survey out Friday 26th Feb 2010, 31 percent of Americans said the Bush administration is at fault for the current state of the economy while only 7 percent pointed their finger at President Obama and his team.
An additional 23 percent said the fault lies with Wall Street institutions while 13 percent assign the blame to Congress. Nearly 10 percent said the blame lies with all of them.
In a CNN/Opinion Research poll released last November, the public appeared split on who should be blamed if economic conditions don't approve: 47 percent said Bush and congressional Republicans while 45 percent said Obama and congressional Democrats.
"The public still tends to blame the Republicans for current economic conditions," said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "But looking forward is another matter. Americans think the GOP is responsible for getting us into this mess, but they think both parties are responsible for getting us out of it."
The poll, conducted February 5-10, interviewed 1,084 Americans and carries a sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
vinny1967: From reading the threads on here, and Im not surwe whether its a true reflection of the US or not, but it seems like a deeply divided population, who will use any argument to justify their political views. Willing the 'other side' to fail, and picking them up on everything with a told you so attitude is laughable. Not sayin the OP is, as I havent read it yet.
Hope your well John
We are an interesting bunch these days. It seems like no one works together to accomplish a common goal. It is all about complaining about complaining to get an upper hand for the next election. It is nothing about what can be accomplished to improve whatever the issues are....

It certainly looks like the next election started after the votes were counted all right....
I understand where you are coming from BigJohn, but im over here in Europe, & cant help improve your country only observe the unity of the election coalition is fading fast because some (not all) people in high places don't want things reformed, let alone succeed. If two parties over-compromise then nothing real emerges. In four or eight years, They will get to retire safely while the majority may remain no healthier nor wealthier. As Woody Guthrie sang "This Land Is Your Land" but also "Which Side Are You On?"

To paraphrase Mae West "Votes had nothing to do with it"
Obama was no more "elected" than Bush was.
First they sent in the bad cop, Bush, to make people desperate for change. Then they sent in an unknown CFR puppet, Obama, offering nothing but "change". And the people accepted it, at least enough that his program is underway. There's no stopping it now, even if his popularity falls to zero as Bush's did. Once they have the white house, and homeland security, and the military, and the national guard, and all the police, it really doesn't matter whether people like what's happening or not, it's gonna happen.

For mr it was NOT good b4 Obama. NOw it Still is not good BUT ALL change takes time. Repubs had along enough to make change and they made worse, IMHO.
So I will continue to wait longer than a year b4 passing judgement on Obama.
He got the wost mess in the history of this country upon taking office.
One thing we need to understand, is the fact when any government representative fails it is because he/she does not have the majority public supporting him/her. Successful government reps are only able to achieve that success with the will of the majority public, this REPUBLIC, or they fail of their own INDIVIDUAL support.

For the sake of argument, what specifically did Bush pass to Obama that had not been first passed to him by several prior presidents? Afganistan-din't that emerge during Clinton and wasn't it Clinton that blew the deal to get Osama? Iraq-did that only start during the BushII administration? Housing and Wall Street-Who signed the law repealing Glass/Steagal and who gave CITI an axemption from Glass/Steagal from 1993-99? Who reduced the lending restrictions on sub-prime home loans in 1978 and again in 1993 and 1997? Who originally introduced sub-prime, low income home loans in 1967? What president said in 1998 that the U.S. economy is beyond boom and bust swings? What president had a sunset clause put in Social Security? What president created medicare and greatly expanded the number of americans elligeable for Social Security? Which president used Social Security Trust funds to forgive the remaining WWII debts of Europe and Japan? Was the original intent of the XVI Ammendment signed by Taft(a republican) to only tax the top 5% of incomes and what subsequent presidents initiated a progressive tax that applied to all wage earners?:
