Don't know about books but there are 3 diving schools in Larnaca. One along the front at McKenzie and 2 along Dhekelia Road. Sorry can't be more exact but they're easy enough to find if you drive along you'll see the signs.

the zenobia is by far the best -176 metres long and in 42 metres of water
so many dives to be done on that
dont know who is operating out of larnaca- possibly 'octopus' they used to be good
if you get down the coast towards the border then go for 'herbies diving paradise' thats the best down there

There are lots of diving centres in Paphos not sure about Larnaka
