Disagree with the last part...We learn to accept all their imperfections and love them anyway...

That would depend on the imperfections. Some imperfections are changeable so why should we accept them? Unconditional love does not mean you have to accept imperfections.
If someone does not want to change then you have a choice to accept or not accept.
