I was just informed by a friend that someone posted an ad on the above-mentioned site, looking for me. Apparently, I'd spoken to him a couple of weeks ago, when I was out singing karaoke. I looked up the ad & he said, "I think there was something there." The only one I can think of was a guy whose teeth I complimented. My friend laughed & said, "You have a stalker!". Have you ever been saught after this way or looked for someone using it? IMO, this is just too funny!
sweetowen: I apologize if this is against the rules... just thought of that. OOPS!
What rule? Mentioning a website? People do it all the time, even other dating sites like POF which I think sux, e-harmony which I think has an inflated self image thinking they know what people want in a mate, etc.

I wouldn't worry too much about the rule. I thought it was just for other dating sites or if you're trying to promote a site which you're not, you're just telling a funny story about one.
On topic though. Wow. Have heard of this happening but not to anyone I know. What could it hurt to meet him for coffee? Would be like meeting someone here for coffee wouldn't it kind of? Make sure someone knows you're going to keep it short and sweet first time. Can't hurt though and if he took all the trouble to put an ad on Craigs's list? Let us know how it goes.......

I had 2 that met me at the gym and since I do not workout at the same time every day, they had to keep coming at different times until they found me again.

I think the gym should pay you instead of you paying them. Think of the business you brought them.

Probably only joking about the "stalking" comment, but I been there, took the class and have the shirt. (I was being followed around the suburb and city that I lived in. Here's the skinny on it:
it is only "stalking" if it is " persistent." Looking for somebody and/or asking somebody out on a date, for example, is a rite of passage, as the law views it. Now, if somebody keeps asking for a date after being told "no", and makes personal comments "more than once or twice", then it CAN be considered stalking, or at least, harassment. The laws are fairly ambiguous about this because it is still recognized as common that a woman, for example, would play a little cat and mouse, be coy, etc... and I understand this, because what a dull, unimpressive world and life it would be if it were stoic, I mean, what do we have to do to make sure we are not being seen as a stalker--get somebody's permission ahead of time to give a compliment or ask for a date? The whole thing is so cattywampus it sucks. But then, there ARE real stalkers. So, what are ya going to do?

I hope it was not posted in the "adult" section...

there have been these colums in many papers for years

i think they are neat to read
you red corolla on the 405 gridlock tuesday last
me black jeep on your left
you were listening to the radio and singing along
id love a chance to be serenaded? call me at ____-____
i think its sweet i mean that takes effort- means they thought about you
who knows sweet? or he could be an axe murderer...
Love the optimism!
Seriously though, if you have an inkling that there was a possible connection to someone - why not take the opportunity and at least respond.
I remember working in a restaurant and one time a customer left his phone number and asked me to meet him later at a club - honestly, I couldn't even anything about him so I didn't go. Sometimes though, we do have those moments when someone does make an impact on us, even if its a short period of time.
