Tulefel: Yes, if you fulfill the main condition: you pay your bills in time. Then if you are white, law-abiding and fluent in Swedish and/or English it can make your life much easier than if you are not.

Then you can get rose for not being law-abiding… There’re lots of roses for everyone in this world, ain’t it?

Im English, lived here for 6 months.
Its all good, people are very nice to me. I dont speak a word of the language and work from home. I have expat meetups and even the swedish go to that.
On a darker note.... If your not white, dont speak English then i realisticly expect things to not be quite the same here. As for finding partners in Sweden as a foriegner, it may be like finding a girl at home, or rather more challenging!!!!
But, Swedish girls are the BEST, i love them all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi there
The Swedes are special as most nationalities, I suppose. They are an old nation of the "assembly line mentality". Order and "on time" is ever so important and they officially care about the individual. They helped me bring up three children to University degrees and for that I am thankfull.
But.
Sweden has accepted many foreigners from a waste diversity of countries through the years and as allways good or bad people are amongst these visitors. Keeping in mind the love of order there have been some faults in how people in Sweden have realized what kind of people the visitors are at times. Some come there without education and even illiterate. Some come from countries of unrest with scars on theyr soules that the Swedes have no comprehension of. Some come because they can live a comfortable life on welfare and it is this group of people that unfortunately has set the general attitudes.
While in Sweden visitors have a harder time then locals to get a job. This is somewhat caused by the general beliefs that visitors come there for the social benefits and not to participate in society to the fullest. Reluctancy or perhaps opportunities to learn the language and be accepted that way also plays a part in how visitors are treated and one big contributor is the lengthy time visitors are stuck in the system beeing "treated" for legal acceptance. Hoards of people have been stuck in "immigration camps" for up to 10 years while theyr papers are in the grinding mills of immigration laws.
All in all Sweden is a friendly place to live in but it is difficult to get "close" to people there and they are very true to theyr culture and not so keen on learning about others.
