It is not debatable for it to be true. There is far more evidence to suggest that it is some sort of mental disorder than there is to support a supernatural explaination.
There is no evidence of demons, so no, I would say that I don't think that people can be possessed.

I personally don’t believe someone can be possessed by a demon or demons but I do believe people can go into a trance and start acting kind of weird or devilish and this without taking any substances whatsoever.

I think some people can be quite dangerous to others ie suffer from lack of empathy and can be destructive, mean and evil...

This particular movie/true story does probably give the best testomonial to a demon possession being possible. I know the family and all those involved in that case certianly do feel it's possible and that is infact what she suffered.
I know many Baptists, Catholics, Christians, and some Agnostics that beleive it.
I personally haven't witnessed a cinematic demon possession. I have seen people that have completely changed character and we have all seen evil deeds since they always make the top story in the news.
If you beleive in Heaven then you also have to accept there is a hell. Are demons from hell capable of such a thing? and to the other side of that....Can Angels come down from Heavan and help us?
The mind is very powerfull. A man once froze to death becuase he was convinced he was freezing to death...but the temperatures he was in actually weren't cold enough for that happen. So I have to wonder..if Emily Rose was taken to people that didn't beleive in Demon possession ..would there have been a different outcome? Perhaps she was suffering a mental disorder that got fed by the beleivers through power of suggestion. Many skitzophrenics claim to see and or be demons. and Skitzophrenia is most commonly found in younger women.
