Some call it a "gut feeling". Females sometimes call it "womens intuition". Regardless of what it is actually called I'd like to have an open discussion on this topic.

When you get that "gut feeling" do you pay attention to it or ignore it?

For you individually, is it insignificant if you ignore it or do you suffer repercussions?

Is this something that you feel on a regular basis or under special circumstances?

Please share your thoughts...

Thanks, Merky

I never disregard that "gut feeling". Regardless of follow through or not (not always your choice, work etc) I never disregard it.

I get these "gut feelings" pretty often. And I must say, more times than not they are on the mark. Depending on what it is pertaining to I may or may not act upon it. And yes, there have been times that I regretted ignoring it. And some times that I have also regretted acting upon it. Geez, it's really hard sometimes trying to figure these "gut feelings" out...doh uh oh

I'm of the same opinion as Fraya, it's like a 6th sense.

It hasn't let me down yet.

its not just a womens intuition, everyone has it (but not everyone notices it or pays attention to it) and YES, you should DEFINITELY go with how you feel...how many times have i been screwed over because i didnt go along with my gut feeling?? too many to count.

What's difficult is when you have that feeling and you don't know why and you can't put your finger on it...

One of lifes greatest excitments is risk, it feels great when it feels like the right thing to do. Opposition is the resident risk. Its up to you to decide if that risk is a good idea for you at any given time or not. The down side of risk is (sorry...boring) responcibility!!

We may never know since that someone or something we discarded from our lives, due to our intuition, it lost for questioning.

I listen to my intuition and gut feelings. I use it in my nursing occupation very often. It is always accurate 100% of the time for me. Can't afford not to listen to it when people's lives are on the line.
My only regret is if I don't listen to it. professor

I was told in a self defense class that awareness was your first line of defense. "Pay attention to those gut feelings."

To see for ourselves we were told to go to a crowded place and pick out one person and just watch them thinking about all the terrible things that we could do to them. Take on the mindset of a predator hunting for the next victim.

Not all, but most of the people I tried it on did seem to be aware something was not right around them.

What is bugging you that you have a feeling about and can't quite put your finger on it?

I always pay attention to my intuition its saved me from a few disasters...I was recently reading up on this subject and it turns out sadly that many times peeps ignore it. Then afterwards say "I had a bad feeling" The point the author was making is, that humans are the only species that do that. Every species in the animal kingdom obeys thier instincts. So his thought was that we are all born with it and society has somehow conditioned us to disregard or second guess it. It really made me think wine
