They were flying in from Warsaw to mark 70 years since the Katyn massacre of thousands of Poles by Soviet forces.

He was to run again for President but it seems he wasn't that popular, even on his Prime Minister's eyes. They considered him to be too conservative and delaying Poland's development.

Apparently it was an accident.
What I do not understand is,why all those Leaders were on the same Aircraft!

thank you All, Poland has reached a tranforming time due to the tragedy. Why so many in one plane? Of course there were some mistakes like whole millitary leaders in one plane. I can't understand it. The Polish army must learn a lot.
Concerning the rest of ppl - they were coming to KAtyn. A very special place to any Pole since it is a place which wasn't noticed on time by the western world to stop Soviets to rule half of Europe for 50 years. So many wanted to come and remember once again /yes, we Poles like to remember :) /. There were 2 trips, it was the second one... The end very sad. Today we know - the President's twin bro will candidate.. I hope he will not be a new president of Poland. It;s not a good solution.
