A humble man was John. He was humble in his ways and the things he owned. John was a junk dealer. He did not have much in life but he owed no one. His home was filled with the things found and bought in the junk he worked at so long.
Over the years John had developed an eye for pretty things and collected them in his modest home. But poor John was a lonely man without a wife to love and cherish. No one wanted a man that deals in junk.
One day John saw a lady moving into a small broken house. He drove by the house to see a woman trying to set up living quarters for herself and her little girl. John stopped and inquired if he could be of assistance. She burst into tears and sat on the floor. John assured her that it would all be ok. She had no money and no food. All they had was the clothes on their backs.
John went home and loaded his truck with all they would need. There was furniture of the best he had. There were pretty things from his home and appliances of like new filled with all the food needed for weeks. He filled her hand with cash and said "Good day, mam." She said, "I can not pay you sir." John smiled and said, "There is no bill, mam."
The lady got a job and soon was able to take care of her self and her little girl. If something was needed it appeared at the door without a word from anyone. But, she knew who had left it there.
The lady tried to repay John, each time he would say "There is no bill, mam". She would talk with John everyday she could. She would walk with him and they would talk of their lives and the dreams each had for the future.
One day she took John's hand and said "John...Will you marry me?" And John cried and with tears on his cheeks said, "Mam...How can I ever repay you for loving this lowly junk man. She kiss him softly and said, "John...There is no bill."
Len, That was such a beautiful story, portraying true love for what it really should be. Not all the material things we possess but the kindness and love we have in our heart for someone, no matter what their circumstances are. The richest thing we can possess in our life is the unconditional love of someone.
Only I know where this came from and it truly breaks my heart that the woman couldn't have had a son and a daughter(understand). But I pray that the REAL John will find his Lady soon.
