Let's get some things cleared up here...
You are not ugly and I don't think you are a moron! You seem like a sweet, stand-up kinda guy.
Now as far as offering some sort of advice... I suggest that you put more detail into your profile. Check out some other dudes your age and see what they have said in theirs. (on the fishing site you can go into rate their pix and check them out)
Send some flowers/emails to girls you find interesting/cute/whatever and tell them why you think they are interesting/cute/whatever...just say more than-hi, you're cute... show some effort in both your profile and how you make contact and you might be pleasantly surprised!

well the thing is i have put alot of effort into my first contact msg's and still nothing ...my profile i never know what to put in there i dont want to bore ppl and if i tell everything it wont leave much for conversation ....i have read prolly a million womens profiles and tried to comment on what they have said so they know i read there profile and not just looked at there picture ...i am a very honest guy and i dont hide anything ...i have had alot of bad relationships and i have now been sigle for oh about 2 yrs now all my friends and family told me to stop looking and be single and that is what i have done ...but it is getting to be very lonely ....i have turned to these sites cause i am a single dad and i dont get to go out to often and when i do i dont go to bars and clubs ...i quess i am just afraid of being alone forever ...thanks for your advice

Well they say don't worry about, just be yourself and eventually something happens. That is what they say.....so just give up and they will come. I think that is how it is suppose to happen. So your problem might be that your trying to hard! I mean look at me....no, never mind...that would be a bad example...oh well, you'll figure it out!

Be yourself is most important. Never hurts to type up your profile in a word or work program so you can check spelling and grammar. Sometimes this helps.

viper100381: Ok so i have been on this thing for a few weeks now and i have also been on another one i dont know if i can say it but it has to to with lots of fish ...lol anyway i have been on that site for oh about 5 yrs now ...i do like i am told and i fill out all the questions and post a pic and i am as honest as i can be on these things ...however in 5 yrs i have never recived a msg or even a reply to my many msges sent ...and i hate to say it but its looking the same way on here . i am begining to think i am doing something wrong. please help me out here i dont wanna sound like a moron here but this is really bothering me. am i ugly or am i saying something wrong ? any tips or hints or any one who may be interested in me please speak up lol

After quickly looking over your profile, the one thing that I can comment on is that women (mostly) are attracted to confidence. Statements like "kinda working on becoming a police officer" are a bit wishy washy and don't represent you well. Just "working on becoming a police officer" (which is a noble profession by the way) is a much better way to put it. There are some very good women on here and well worth you effort. But like that "other" site there are some nutbars as well so be careful and watch the spammers. Good luck Viper...you will find her.

I have no idea where you got it into your head that being a police office is a mistake. I have family in the police force. Not all police officers, judges etc are bad.
There are many people who are church goers and are the worst crooks, psychos and abusers.
Viper ... you know where you are comfortable. If a police officer is what you are aspiring to, best of luck. If you go to church, and meet the right person for you, that is great too. You might even meet another female police officer who could be the one for you.
Don't let others kill a dream or any aspirations you have. It kills your spirit/soul if you let them.
Yes Viper be what you want to be but I would echo rider4u. You should change that line kinda. It may be just a small thing in the overall picture but it comes across that maybe you are not ambitious or unsure of yourself. Also add a little humor to your profile. Women dig men that can make them laugh. Just do not over do it. It would not hurt to give your profile a make over but I would run it buy some of your female friend first. That way you can get some constructive comments before you post it.
Finally don't sweat it if your not getting the results you want. Sometimes it takes 2 years or more before you meat that special woman.

Profile sounds good but you sound scared to death to try to date.....
That's how it's coming across to me when I read it anyway. That in itself might scare a girl off. Afraid that even the slightest huff could send you running. I know its tough if you've been hurt but you do have to open up a bit and make the effort. Good luck!!!!
