As you become older does the world around you and the issues you confront on a daily basis seem more black and white (clear right and wrong) or are there more gray areas? Things are not as clear as they used to be to me it seems. Open mindedness seems to lead to less clear cut right and wrong. Your views anyone?dunno

I don´t think I´ve ever been a person who sees anything in black and white, so no, I question things now as I´ve always done.

My job also helps me keep updated with new ideas, thoughts and my kids) as do my adult children.

Open mindedness is a positive characteristic.

Thank you Jan. Does your open mindedness make you feel indecisive or unsure of yourself at times?confused

Not really, and good evening Bob! Being open minded doesn´t mean I sit on the fence or that I don´t have my own opinions, I certainly do! It means that I´m willing to listen and be tolerant of opposing views, and sometimes, but rarely, to the extent that I may even change my mind about something.

Now that I'm older, I always see that there is so much more for me to learn. I do see the shades of gray, but it does not cause me confusion. I just realize that everything is not black and white.

Good evening. Nice to meet you.

For me everything has the potential to be gray.. but if you dissect and analyze it enough then you find it is made up of lots of black and white components that are in themselves clear and distinct, plus some other gray components that can be further analyzed!

The trouble is even after your dissecting task you will stand back from your fine work and still see only gray.

Some things on the top level are just clearly right and wrong.

As I get older nothing changes but a shift in the contrast as my judgement become simultaneously more mild and harsh about different things.

Good solid grey answer :)

Ive become a lot more skeptical as Ive got older.

When I was younger I tended to take everything as gospel. It was all black or white.

And Ive long stopped believing in the Tooth Fairy.

I always used to see things in black and white, but now I look in the mirror and although the face is still white and the black rings are still under the eyes and getting bigger..... the hair (what's left) is going grey dunno

if this helps. my older son and his partner, when they have a problem. they come to me to let stem off , I hear both side of the story, and I can understand where there coming from. it is a bit funny they each wobble up to me at different times and let out what is getting to each other, and have there winged. I can sit back and listen to them both, and try to guide them but it is there decision on what they do about it, but on the same side I have my one o pion as well but keep that to myself as it is there life not mine,
just bye listening to people, and not interfering, but you can still have your own thoughts on this as well I find teddybear

It is hard to do but with my children I to have learned not to voice every little thought and feeling I have. Every now and then they say something outrageous and I laugh inside and say you do that and come back and let me know how that works for you will youlaugh

To the op I have flip flopped thru life on this. When I was real young I was more open minded and seen things with more gray areas. Then for a while I guess you could say I got to full of myself I seen only black and white no gray areasdunno then someone told me I was stunting my growth. As I have gotten older I am learning there are many gray areas in life. And I have finially reached the point of not finding it neccessary to make those around me realize my view is the right viewlaugh
