Hi all,
I haven't seen any threads about Greece yet?
How come?

To help Greece, I bought some Greece government bonds.
That way, I also benefit from a European rescue mission.

Thats a really good thing to do-Greece deserves to be rescued, especially because its not peoples fault whats happening here. But for sure the guilty ones will continue to live a rich and happy life ever afterhug

Just an update about my bond holdings.

In my view Greece is the country which is pissed off most by the crisis, so I am still holding only Greece government bonds.

I expect that Ireland will get help from U.K. and USA.
Belgium will get help from its neighbours.

Spain, they will cope with the situation.
As Germany recovered from the recession, they will make more holidays in their 17th bundesland (Mallorca).
Spain has to fight, but they will win.

Italy, they are always in a crisis - nothing special to care about.

Germany, or the big Kanton as it is called rolling on the floor laughing nobody knows that they are in trouble, so no crisis to expect there.

USA/China - it must be a kind of love / hate relationship. China would like to divorce, but cannot find another partner
dunno .

But back to the topic, Greek government bonds.
Last year, I received interest payments in a timely and professional manner, and I expect that they will pay this year too. I bought the bonds cheap, a hair cut of 20% is priced in.

Also I have got a bond from an Irish Life Insurance company in my portfolio, so far also no defaults, and no defaults expected.

A lot of trust and faith was destroyed in the last four years - crisis started in 2006 - and is still ongoing.
If we returned to our faith, we would gain back trust and self-confidence much quicker.
If you are Christian, then you know what you shall do tomorrow morning professor And afterwards goto a local dinner have some lunch and support the local economy.

excuse me....

are you some sort of Christian Taliban, telling me what I should do?

and another thing.....would you be so helpfull yourself if you didn't get any money in return from your bonds?

come on!

as a dutch citizen, I pay a huge amount of money to EU tax....and with that, my friend, it stops.

be a good christian yourself and go live in greece, among the Greek, to really help build up the economy of that country again. not stay on the sideline, collecting your annual bonds money and preach to others to do it your way.

It's good to know everyone is helping these countries in crisis, l too am helping Portugal.

Firstly, l bought a load of Bonds, Brooke Bonds PG Tips, because where l live in Spain they are not easy to get.

In a month l will be helping again by closing my company here and moving to Spain, its easier to do that rather than let the Portuguese Government keep taking my blood and then going to Spain to buy more, especially with the big difference in VAT/IVA/BTW or whatever you call it in the country you live.

I did help Switzerland last week by paying a storage bill to the Mercedes Benz dealer in Geneva, it was just 1,400 euros and l helped Germany too by paying ADAC 2,000 euros to transport my S600 to Spain.

I think l have helped a lot of countries in all!!
