I think people do it cause they can. People maybe choose not to show themselves and then edit their blank pics, or show pics of something else instead. Personally it doesn't bother me.
What I realy dislike is people having Fake pics, showing someone else, as this is misleading and shows me that they have real insecurity issues.

Not all are fakes on here, but many like to show off their hobbies/interests as well as it shows some of their character, which is great if it encourages someone to look and contact them as many do not get involved in the forums..
