We all make that mistake sometimes. Even if we THINK the name and catch ourselves....

If she called you "Daphne", you may have issues..... or the beginnings of a great movie collection...

Truth is the mother of my my oldest wee girl was having a dual convo with me and her new man thingy in franglais (french-English)...and while looking at him she called him by my name several times...I knew it was a mix up. But he got a bruised ego and stormed of to bed..Personally I know it was a genuine mistake. but he didn't..(then agin he's french).

I would too if it was done on purpose..But it was an honestr mistake. I know the wee girl and she's not built that way..( in that she wouldn't cheat on her partener)..She doesn't get much chance to speak english and it was a genuine a mistake..

I would put it down to a slip of the tongue. It is so easily and often done. I have Three sons and mix up their names when speaking to them. It's then same with partners and friends we can all get mixed up at times. Some people can be too sensitive about these things. conversing

Nice new pic by the way Phoenix........... much better than the Green beard

Since I call people all kind of names (not that kind of names...) all the time I better stay clear of too suspicious minds.

I would not go sour, I'd make a joke out of it, normally it has a better effect in making sure she remember my name next time.

Has happened me once that I used not his name when addressing a man. He didn’t say a word about it then, but never turned up again… Pity, he was a nice man. “Though, if he is that sensitive, then perhaps it’s better to cancel relationship before it properly started…” says she to comfort herself in rainy days.

Don’t know what I would feel if I was addressed by someone else’s name as it haven’t happened to me yet, but I guess it’s not too enjoyable. Perhaps a scene… or a joke… depends on other factors as time and place and the kind of relationship.
