i sent some to my grandmother one year for mothers day,she cryed she had never got them before,her yard was always full of beautiful flowers so no one though to give her any,im glad to this day i sent them

You'd be surprised to know how many women may find themselves in that same category; most men assume that we perhaps received flowers on many an occasion from the man in our life.

I think you're right. Somehow a lot of men don't realize how rare and special it is.....
and that the few who, out of sincerity
and not for any particular occasion,
go to this small effort & expense
are always remembered in a different class
than the ones who let so many such opportunities go by.

I have known many men during the course of my life and not one of them would show any kind of embarrassment or weirdness buying underwear or flowers.
Flowers are a lovely jesture. And you do not necessarily need a specific reason to give somebody flowers, sometimes it is just simply because you want to.

I dislike Valentines Day for this exact reason; I dont see anything particularly romantic about getting flowers on this day when I know its purely because men think they SHOULD.
Unexpected gestures mean way more to me; even a wild flower picked from the roadside.

I made the very same comment a couple of days ago on here - BECAUE you're obliged to, lessens the meaning. But if it's done 'just because', it can be a life long memory!
